Turning their focus towards attacking reinforcements and a player who could replace Mohamed Salah, Liverpool have reportedly set their sights on signing a La Liga winger worth £33m.
Liverpool transfer news
Just where Liverpool would be without Salah is an uncomfortable question for anyone at Anfield to answer. The Egyptian was once again at the centre of all their good work against Aston Villa, scoring the opener before later assisting the equaliser.
Not many have dared to reach his current level throughout Premier League history and not many will in Merseyside for a while at least. But as things stand, the Reds will be forced to answer the aforementioned question that they’ve been dreading as soon as this summer, with Salah’s contract on course to expire at the end of arguably his best season yet.
Losing Salah now would be an undeniable nightmare for the Reds, even if he is now 32 years old. Yet, those at Anfield are currently set to do exactly that and have seemingly turned their attention towards a potential replacement.
According to reports in Spain, Liverpool have now set their sights on signing Giuliano Simeone from Atletico Madrid, who value their winger at €40m (£33m) this summer. The Reds are preparing an offer and would be happy to meet that amount “if they manage to secure some exits”.

The 22-year-old is a rising star and quickly becoming an important player under father and manager Diego Simeone. Attracting the attention of those at Anfield as a result, it will be very interesting to see whether Simeone sticks with his father or looks to star elsewhere.
“Crucial” Simeone is one to watch
Following in his father’s footsteps by becoming an Atletico Madrid star, Simeone could yet do something that his father never managed to do by swapping Spain for the Premier League and Liverpool. If the Reds come calling for a Salah replacement, the 22-year-old could certainly be one to watch too, having found his best form throughout the current campaign.
Scoring four goals and assisting another five, the winger was dubbed “crucial” by football talent scout Jacek Kulig after his involvement in Atletico Madrid’s equaliser against Paris Saint-Germain back in November.
A player whose arrival Arne Slot would reportedly see as valuable addition for his side, Simeone could be handed the impossible task of replacing Salah. Whether he can replicate such quality at this stage is another question entirely. After all, not many in world football have been capable of reaching such levels this season or ever.
