Harley Quinn and Elvira are teaming up for a new comic book series, and it sounds like pure chaos. Despite their wildly different aesthetics, these two icons have a lot in common with their sharp wit, a knack for breaking the fourth wall, and a history of getting into trouble with style.
Now, DC Comics, Dynamite Entertainment, and Queen “B” Productions are making it official with an all-new crossover comic series hitting shelves in the summer of 2025.
The creative lineup includes longtime Harley Quinn writers Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner, who are at the helm, with Conner also providing the main cover for the first issue.
While an art team hasn’t been announced yet, one major stamp of approval is already locked in with Cassandra Peterson, the real-life Mistress of the Dark, who has given the story her full blessing.
Elvira is no stranger to the comic book world and she made her debut with DC back in 1986, hosting a revival of the House of Mystery horror anthology before jumping across multiple publishers. Over 200 issues later, she’s still haunting the funny pages, with her most recent adventures published by Dynamite.
Peterson shared in a statement: “Recently I’ve gotten the chance to have my Elvira character crossover with some other icons of horror and even personal friends of mine, like H.P. Lovecraft and Vincent Price.
“My fiendish fans may recall that my entry to comics was with DC, and it’s exciting to be working with them again. And with one of their most revered characters. There are few who can match my charisma and appeal, but Harley Quinn is up there!”
Dynamite CEO and Publisher Nick Barrucci is just as hyped, saying: “This is such a great story. We had to bring the best creators on board for this historic team-up and crossover.
“Amanda and Jimmy are some of my closest friends in this industry, and we’ve loved working with them at Dynamite. Their work with Harley Quinn is so beloved as well.
“So it’s just a perfect project all around. We’re excited to share more with fans as it comes together.”
With Harley’s unpredictable antics and Elvira’s razor-sharp and fun sarcasm, this crossover has the potential to be an entertaining, unhinged comic events for fans.
